GP Partners
Dr Carol Wright
MBBS, MRCP, MRCGP
Dr Wright qualified from St. George's Hospital (London) in 1988 and has a particular interest in cancer services, palliative care and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes. She joined the practice in January 2000. Dr Wright is a GP trainer and takes a lead in the practice in teaching and supporting new doctors and undergraduate medical students.
Dr Mark Hammatt
MBChB MRCGP
Dr Hammatt qualified from Leeds Medical School in 1990. He joined the practice in 1999 having spent a few years working in Australia. Dr Hammatt plays a key role in supporting and teaching young doctors and undergraduate medical students. He also has a lead role in IT and managing electronic information in the practice.
Dr Sarah Hay
MBBS (1995 London) BSc Hons MRCGP DTM&H
Dr Hay joined the practice in October 2009. She has a special interest in palliative care and she has a key role in information governance for the practice. Dr Hay also works for North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group as GP Lead for quality and clinical governance.
Dr Sarah Peachey
MBChB Hons, MRCGP
Dr Peachey graduated from the University of Leeds in 2009. She joined the practice as a GP registrar in 2014 and is now a GP Partner. She has particular interest in child and Adult mental health, pain management and carers support.
Dr Lucy Maw
MBBS DRCOG MRCGP DFFP
Dr Maw qualified in 1995 from St George's Hospital (London). She joined the practice in 2003 and is interested in ear, nose and throat problems, family planning, teenage health and women's health matters. Dr Maw plays a key role in teaching undergraduate medical students.
Dr Joy Shacklock
MBBS MRCGP(Merit) DFFP LoCIUT LoCSDI
Dr Shacklock qualified from Newcastle University in 2003. She joined the practice in April 2010. She has a particular interest in contraception, sexual health, teenage and women's health. Dr Shacklock is the Named GP for child protection for the Harrogate & Rural District locality. Joy is also the Safeguarding Lead for the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr Deepika Ganesh
MBBS 1999, MRCGP
Dr Ganesh qualified in India. She joined the practice in January 2017 and has special interests in family planning and teaching She is a GP appraiser and is a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission
Dr Emma Goldstein
MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP
Dr Goldstein qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2007. She joined the practice in 2014 as a GP registrar and is now a GP Partner. She has a particular interest in women's health and care of older people.

Dr Katherine Hunter
BSc MBChB MRCGP
Dr Hunter completed a BSc in Microbiology with Immunology in 2007 and worked for a year in the scientific industry before deciding to study Medicine. She graduated as a doctor from the University of Leeds in 2013 and went on to qualify as a GP in 2018. She joined the practice in October 2018. Dr Hunter's areas of interest include teaching medical students and GP Registrars, diabetes and mental health.
Dr Anna Handley
MBChB MRCGP DFSRH LoC IUT LoC SD
Dr Handley graduated from the University of Leeds in 1994. She joined the practice in July 2007. Her areas of interest include contraception and women's health.
Dr Tom Chiddick
BMedSci BMBS DipTropMed MRCGP
Dr Chiddick graduated from Nottingham in 2009, completing General Practice training in 2015. He joined the practice in May 2019. He enjoys the variety of General Practice.

Suzi Morris
Suzi joined the clinical team on 1 March 2018 as an Advanced Care Practitioner. She is a Registered Paramedic holding a MSc Practice Development: Enhancing Paramedic Practice (Merit 2017) and a BSc Paramedic Science (1st Class 2013). Suzi will provide urgent care and minor illness clinics at the Practice.
Clinical Pharmacists
Elizabeth Taylor
Liz qualified as a pharmacist from University of Wales in 1990 and completed a Masters degree with distinction at University of Derby in 2001. Liz has previous experience in hospital pharmacy and working in NHS Primary Care organisations supporting GPs with prescribing advice. She has also held lecturer posts at University of Derby teaching and supporting students to complete MSc in Community Pharmacy.
Idoya Pezonaga
Idoya qualified as a pharmacist in Spain in 1991 and completed a Masters degree from the University of Surrey in 1993. She has just completed training as an independent prescriber at the Bradford University and has previous experience in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy and working for the NHS in Primary Care organisations supporting GPs with prescribing advice.
Practice Nurses
Sister Hannah Smith
Qualified with BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing in 2015 at University of Leeds and worked in Vascular Surgery in Leeds and then A&E and Intensive Care in Harrogate. Hannah joined Spa Surgery in February 2018 and will provide a wide range of nursing care. She currently specialises in wound care and is doing further training in the management of chronic diseases particularly Diabetes.
Sister Fiona Raddings
Qualified as Registered General Nurse(RGN) in Harrogate in 1990 and worked in an acute setting for the next 3 years on mixed medical, paediatric orthopaedic and surgical wards. She then went on to work in the community as part of the District Nursing Team for 11 years. Fiona started Practice Nursing in 2004 and her particular interests include wound care, women's health, child health and chronic disease management including COPD, Asthma & Diabetes. She is also the registered First Aider on site at the surgery.
Sister Nadine Collinge
Qualified as RGN from York University. Covers all aspects of nursing care within the practice having diplomas in asthma, copd, diabetes and minor illness. Previously worked at HDH on a variety of wards including surgical, medical, high dependency and neuro rehab.
Sister Sally Madeley
Qualified as an RGN in 1985 and worked in acute medicine and then as a Rheumatology Specialist Nurse. She became a Practice Nurse in 1992 and has Specialist Nurse Practitioner Diplomas in Asthma, COPD, Minor Ailments and Certificates in Advanced management of Rheumatology / Diabetes.
